Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford’s longtime waterfront home, Cedar Cliff, is for sale for $100 million. The historic Connecticut estate was their family home for decades and the place where Frank spent his final years.

For more than two decades, this waterfront estate overlooking Long Island Sound was home to one of television and sports’ best-known couples, Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford.

Now their longtime family home, known as Cedar Cliff, is on the market for $100 million.

Kathie Lee and Frank purchased the property in 1994 for $7.8 million and raised their children, Cody and Cassidy, here. Over the years, they expanded and renovated the estate, adding a three-story wing and creating a home that became the setting for family gatherings, charity events, television appearances and visits from famous friends.

Frank Gifford had already built an extraordinary career by the time the family moved here. He starred for the New York Giants, made eight Pro Bowls and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. After football, he became one of America's most recognizable sports broadcasters, spending decades with ABC and becoming especially well known for Monday Night Football.

Kathie Lee built an equally recognizable career in television. She spent 15 years alongside Regis Philbin on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee and later 11 years with Hoda Kotb on TODAY. Her career has also included acting, singing, songwriting, producing, writing and directing.

Cedar Cliff was their family home through much of those years.

Frank passed away from natural causes at the family's Greenwich home on August 9, 2015. He was 84.

But the history of this property began long before the Giffords arrived.

The estate sits on what was once part of railroad magnate Henry Francis Shoemaker's compound. The name "Cedar Cliff" reportedly originated with Shoemaker's villa, and the property later became associated with the Cedar Cliff Beach Club during the 1920s. The current Mediterranean-style residence dates to around 1930.

Today, the estate encompasses approximately 2.9 acres with 13,163 square feet of living space, eight bedrooms, extensive waterfront and views across Long Island Sound. The property includes a private beach and dock, swimming pool, tennis court, wine cellar, home theater and professional recording studio.

Kathie Lee eventually moved to Nashville, and after more than 30 years of Gifford family ownership, Cedar Cliff is now looking for its next owner.

Some houses are more than their bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage. They become part of the lives of the people who called them home.

And Cedar Cliff has quite a story to tell.
